The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office is asking residents to help identify a suspect wanted for breaking into several cars in The Springs community off Toonigh Road.

A Facebook post from the sheriff’s office posted Wednesday says the unidentified suspect broke into several unlocked cars in the neighborhood shortly after 3 a.m. Nov. 13.

The post, which had a video attached, said the suspect targeted unlocked vehicles and took about $2,000 in cash and other property from the vehicles.

“The suspect has not been identified and in the current video, it appears the person may be wearing a mask,” the post reads in part. “However, as citizens have done in the past, someone may recognize the person’s build, mannerisms while walking, as well as other gait and other physical characteristics.”

The video shows a person walking onto a property and opening the door of a white pickup truck and peering inside.

The sheriff’s office is asking anyone who can identify the suspect or those who have knowledge of the incident that could help investigators to call the Criminal Investigations Division at 770-928-0239.
