Residents planning to adopt an adult cat like Cali, the county animal shelter is waving adoption fee through Nov. 9

For area residents thinking about adopting a new pet into the family, now is the perfect time to do so.

Between now and Nov. 9, the Cherokee County Animal Shelter is offering adoptions at no cost for people looking for their perfect fur baby.

All adoptions will still come with the same services offered at any other time throughout the year, including adoption counseling with shelter staff, spaying or neutering, microchipping, vaccinations, deworming, a flea and tick treatment, a heartworm test for adult dogs, a feline leukemia test for adult cats and a sample bag of pet food.

As of late Wednesday morning, the shelter’s website has 12 cats, seven dogs and one rabbit listed as up for adoption, waiting for the right person to come select them and take them to a loving, caring forever home.
