An Atlanta Police Department officer faces charges of driving under the influence of alcohol in Cherokee County.

Dean Jackson, 49, of Conyers was arrested late Monday and charged with DUI and weaving over the roadway, according to the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office. Deputies said he showed signs of impairment in field sobriety tests, and two breath tests at the jail showed a breath alcohol content of over 0.14.

Jackson was released Tuesday on a $2,211 bond.

Jackson is currently on administrative leave while the incident is under investigation, Atlanta Police Officer Anthony Grant told the Tribune.
