Canton police have made an arrest in a case where a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle while crossing Riverstone Parkway last November.

According to Canton police spokesman Pacer Cordry:

Christi Hinkley, 64, of Canton turned herself in at the Cherokee County jail on Tuesday. She is charged with first-degree homicide by vehicle and hit-and-run resulting in serious injury or death. Both charges are felonies.

Sebastian Gregorio-Diego, 58, of Canton was struck by a sport utility vehicle and killed on Nov. 20, 2019 as he crossed Riverstone Parkway near the River Place shopping center at about 7:45 p.m.

Hinkley was released from jail on $10,000 bond. The incident was investigated by Canton police and the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office’s traffic unit.
