ALDI will be celebrating the remodeling of its Canton store on Thursday with customer giveaways, company officials said.

The updated Canton ALDI store, at 553 Riverstone Parkway, has a new layout that features expansive refrigeration space to accommodate the fresh products.

This update comes on the heels of an expansion of ALDI product offerings, making 20% of its total selection new, company officials said Monday in a release. The expansion is part of the ALDI’s national growth and remodel plan, and it includes a 40% increase in its fresh food selection, with many organic, convenient and easy-to-prepare options.

The company is investing $5 billion to have the third most stores in the U.S. by 2022 the company announced in 2018. ALDI is spending $1.9 billion to expand and remodel 1,300 stores nationally by the end of this year. The amount spent on these projects in the Atlanta area is nearly $50 million, the company said.

“We listened when we heard ALDI customers wanted more fresh and convenient options, and our remodeled stores allow us to offer them exactly what they’re looking for,” Shaun O’Keefe division vice president for ALDI, said. “Expanding our fresh product selection is just one of the ways we’ve improved the grocery shopping experience at ALDI and we’re excited to introduce this to our shoppers in Canton.”

The store, will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8:45 a.m.

To celebrate the Canton store’s reopening, there will be a Golden Ticket giveaway offering gift cards to the first 100 customers. Shoppers can also enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win a year’s supply of ALDI produce.

The Canton store is open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The ALDI store in Woodstock also recently went through a remodeling phase to meet the demands of the new look expansion of ALDI stores across the U.S. ALDI operates more than 1,900 U.S. stores in 36 states.
