Cherokee Sheriff’s Office investigators are working to determine the cause of a crash that killed the mother of a 1-year-old Wednesday night.
According to the sheriff’s office:
Deputies responded to a crash at about 11 p.m. Wednesday in the Sable Trace neighborhood, off Woodstock Road near Acworth.
A Suzuki SX4 driven by Trevoshea Evans, 22, of Acworth, had left the roadway, flipped and landed upside down on top of two cars parked at a residence. Evans died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Evans’ 1-year-old child was inside the car but was not injured, authorities said, though the infant was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital as a precaution.
The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office Traffic Enforcement Unit is investigating the crash.
“Preliminary indications are that speed was a contributing factor in the accident,” Capt. Jay Baker, sheriff’s office spokesperson, said in a news release.
