An annual tree lighting that draws large crowds is slated for Sunday as the The Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta officially lights its Christmas tree for the season.

The community is invited to join the festivities, which run from 3-7 p.m. in and around the center.

Similar to previous years, the Outlet Shoppes will be transformed into a Whoville-inspired winter wonderland, featuring live entertainment, giveaways, activities for kids and free photo opportunities with Cindy Lou Who, The Grinch, Mrs. Claus, and Santa with his elves.

Center Court will be decked out for the season with a 25-foot Christmas tree. The annual event, emceed by Tom Sullivan, this year feature even more activities for kids and families. DJ King C will be playing hits and holiday favorites while shoppers enjoy a cotton candy station, face painters and balloon artists.

The Original Rad Hatter will also be making a return to join the holiday celebrations and help attendees make their own festive Rad Bag Hats. All ages are invited to get in on the fun and get their caricature drawn featuring their Rad Bag Hat creation.

“The Tree Lighting Spectacular is our chance to create an unforgettable experience for the community,” said Charlie Loughran, general manager of The Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta. “We always hear from everyone that it’s one of their favorite events of the year. Plus, since we keep adding entertainment, as well as stores and restaurants to The Outlet Shoppes, there are now more things to do and places to see than ever before.”

Other activities kids will enjoy include listening to story time with Mrs. Claus and getting a picture with one of the Whoville characters and Santa’s helpers, who will be strolling through the center corridors entertaining shoppers and handing out trinkets.

The night will conclude with the annual tree lighting in Center Court, and a simulated snowfall. The Outlet Shoppes will remain open until 8 p.m.
