The 2019 Riverfest Arts and Crafts Festival is back for another year of fun activities for all ages, local crafts vendors of all kinds and great food.

The popular Riverfest event, presented by the Service League of Cherokee County, will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sept. 28 and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sept. 29 at Etowah River Park along the banks of the Etowah River.

Riverfest is a juried show, featuring original, creative, handmade work from artisans all over the region. Additionally, the event showcases extraordinary entertainment throughout the weekend — live music and dancing — as well as a fun-filled children’s area where children of all ages can participate in a number of rides and activities.

Patrons, new and those returning, are invited to save the date for Riverfest, the Service League’s largest annual fundraising event. All proceeds benefit the needy children of Cherokee County.

Riverfest has become, for many families, a not-to-be-missed event for kicking off the season as the cooler, crisp days as autumn arrives. This year’s festival features more than 200 arts and crafts exhibitors, concessionaires, and entertainers. There are many returning favorites, as well as several new and exciting exhibitors and features, organizers said. Select recipes from The League’s latest cookbook, Gatherings & Traditions, will be offered to festival patrons for tasting, and cookbooks will be available for purchase.

The Service League of Cherokee County is one of the oldest service organizations in Cherokee County, with a membership of 100 women who work year-round, collectively volunteering more than 10,000 hours per year to raise money for needy children throughout Cherokee County. Money raised during Riverfest, and other events sponsored by the League, provide needy families with day-to-day necessities such as food, clothing, dental care, eyeglasses, medical care, rent and utilities assistance, scholarships and much more. Admission to Riverfest for adults and children 11 and older is a $5 donation. The event will take place rain or shine. Free parking and shuttle services are available.
