An annual celebration of lights and holiday fun returns to Cherokee County this week.

The Holiday Lights of Hope community celebration returns at 6 p.m. Thursday, and will run through Dec. 23 at Hobgood Park, 6688 Bells Ferry Rd. in Woodstock. The light show will benefit the Anna Crawford Children’s Center in Woodstock, according to the event website.

The children’s center is a non-profit organization that looks to prevent child abuse and neglect, with the goal of protecting and serving children and families, according to the organization’s website. The organization opened its doors in 1990, and works to end child abuse through prevention and intervention services. Programs based out of the Anna Crawford Children’s Center in Woodstock include Parents HELP and the Child Advocacy Center.

Families at the event can enjoy a large, walk-through LED holiday lights display and have the opportunity to meet and have their picture taken with Santa Claus at Hobgood Park, according to the event website. The event is open nightly. Admission is free for kids ages 14 and under, and all others are $10 per person. Cash or card is accepted, according to the website.
