From left, Lions Club members George Murphy, Jerry Bennett, Bill Teasley, Ray DeLuca, Hal Johns, John Fincher and club President Marty Taylor accept the donation.

Earl Darby, Cherokee County coroner and owner of Darby Funeral Home, donated more than 200 pairs of eyeglasses and cases to the Canton Lions Club.

The glasses are passed on to those in need who usually cannot afford the cost of new glasses and exams. Darby has been collecting glasses and passing them on to the Lions Club for a number of years and believes everyone needs to help each other in any way possible.

For those who would like to assist with the program, continued donations can be made through Darby Funeral Home, 480 E. Main St., in Canton.
