A Towne Lake restaurant will soon be home to a cornhole tournament to support a local youth travel baseball team.

The 13U Georgia Academy Baseball Club Braves-Gianneschi team is hosting a Cornhole in the Community fundraiser Oct. 16 at Donovan’s Irish Cobbler, 1025 Rose Creek Drive in Woodstock.

Proceeds will be used for the team’s tournaments, uniforms and more for the 2021-22 season.

Registration is at 11 a.m., and the tournament begins at noon. Spots are limited.

The entry fee is $25 for an individual and $50 for a team. Event sponsorships ranging from $100-$400 are available. The team also is seeking donations of gift cards and raffle items.

The team is a travel ball team with a strong focus on player development, sportsmanship, teamwork and baseball mechanics. They will represent their communities across North Georgia over the next year.
