The city of Waleska will soon decide on its budget for 2020.
The proposed 2020 budget calls for $190,300 in the general fund, an $11,800 increase with estimated higher revenues. The water fund is $1.1 million, a $53,000 increase from the current budget. Sanitation is budgeted at $231,000, up from last year’s $151,500.
Local revenues from the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax are projected to hold steady from 2019-20 at $419,930. SPLOST money is to be spent primarily on the water system, as well as the city’s Ga. Highway 140 project and debt service on Georgia Environmental Finance Authority loans.
The mayor and council will hold a public hearing Monday, with a final vote scheduled for June 17.
