Delta Community Member Service Agent D.J. Vining and Delta Community Canton Branch Manager Connie Hopkins congratulate Sienna for winning the credit union’s Youth Month Essay Contest for her school.

Sienna DiFiore is only 8 years old, but the Hickory Flat Elementary School student is already saving money to attend college so she can pursue a career in fashion design.

Today, she’s $100 closer to her goal, after winning the Delta Community Credit Union Youth Month Essay Contest in Cherokee County.

This is the second year straight that a student from Tiffany Givens’ third-grade class has won Delta Community’s Essay Contest, which is carried out each April in conjunction with National Credit Union Youth Month.

“This contest inspired a lot of conversations about the importance of saving money for the future,” said Givens. “It’s always fun to read our students’ creative ideas, and especially gratifying that Sienna won recognition for her essay.”

Hickory Flat is one of 12 metro Atlanta elementary schools where Delta Community hosted its Youth Month Essay Contest. As a winner, Sienna received a $100 Youth Savings Account at the credit union.
