Rescue workers prepare to transport an injured man to Northside Hospital Cherokee.

A Cherokee County man was taken to the hospital this morning after being trapped under a utility vehicle, according to Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services.

The emergency dispatch came at about 7:45 a.m. and said the 90-year-old victim had a tractor roll over on him, but when firefighters arrived, they found it was a John Deere brand Gator model utility vehicle, according to fire department spokesman Tim Cavender.

The incident occurred at 910 Essic Road located in the Clayton community.

The man was conscious and alert and didn’t appear to have any major injuries.

Firefighters placed the injured man in an ambulance and transported him the Northside Cherokee Hospital in Canton to be evaluated.
