Employee’s mini-dirt bike taken from outside pawn shop

A pawn shop employee had his personal dirt bike stolen from outside the business, only to recover it when his brother later spotted it listed for sale online.

According to a Cherokee Sheriff’s Office report:

On Aug. 5 an employee of a Bells Ferry Road pawn shop parked his personal dirt bike outside the store at about 9 a.m. and later noticed it was missing.

Surveillance video showed that at about 2 p.m. a young man wearing a T-shirt pulled up over his head walked up to the black Honda CRF50 and pushed it away from the store.

After 10:30 p.m. that night, the victim called the deputy back and relayed that his brother had seen the dirt bike listed for sale on a social media post and listed its location as Sky Ridge Apartments in Woodstock.

Woodstock police later discovered the dirt bike at Crest at Laurelwood Apartments, which is near Sky Ridge and deputies retrieved it.

The case remains under investigation to identify the person who stole the dirt bike.
