Dakota Hoskins, 28, of Jasper was arrested charged with false report of a crime and misuse of 911 for the April 24 call to 911 reporting the armed robbery of a Canton convenience store. In addition, Hoskins was charged with two counts of giving a false name, age and address to officers.

Hoskins was booked into the Cherokee County jail and after consultation with investigators from the Cherokee Sheriff's Office and Cherokee Marshal's Office was hit with additional charges for other false reports of crimes to 911.
