Woodstock and Cherokee County firefighters responded in January to reports of a car explosion and small fire in the garage of a home on Colemans Bluff Drive.

Fire officials say the occupants and pets of a Woodstock home escaped injury Thursday afternoon when a car reportedly burst into flames inside the garage.

Tim Cavender, spokesman for the Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services, said both Woodstock Fire Department personnel and county firefighters responded to the home at 166 Colemans Bluff Drive at around 3:45 p.m. in response to reports that a car had exploded in the garage.

“The fire was coming out of the garage with one vehicle involved,” Cavender told the Tribune on Thursday. “Firefighters were able to get the fire under control in about 15 minutes after they arrived.”
