A 13-year-old boy reported his bicycle being struck by a car at the intersection of Stoneforest Drive and Towne Lake Parkway on Wednesday, and that the driver stopped only long enough to yell at him.
According to a Cherokee Sheriff’s Office report:
The boy told a deputy he was riding his bicycle in the grass beside Stoneforest Drive, traveling south. When he reached Towne Lake Parkway, the boy said he had to get off the grass for a moment and into the road in order to make a sharp turn onto the crosswalk.
While on the road the bike was struck by a gray sedan being driven very slowly. The collision knocked the boy off his bike onto the pavement and burst his back tire. He told the officer he wasn’t injured.
The boy told the deputy the driver — who described as a woman with blonde hair — stopped just long enough to yell at him and then continued onto Towne Lake Parkway. The boy was not able to get the tag number of the car.
