A 56-year-old Ball Ground woman died Tuesday from injuries sustained in an early morning crash with a flatbed truck, according to the Cherokee Sheriff's office.

According to a statement from sheriff's office spokesman Jay Baker:

Cherokee sheriff’s deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident Tuesday at approximately 6:40 a.m. on Ball Ground Highway near the Ga. Highway 372 connector, just south of Nelson.

A flatbed truck traveling north on Ball Ground Highway made a left turn in front of an SUV traveling south on Ball Ground Highway. The driver of the truck, Anthony Hall, 54, of Buford, was not injured in the accident. The driver of the SUV, Susan Skinner, 56, of Ball Ground, was injured and transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta where she later died from her injuries.

Charges have not been filed at this time as the accident remains under investigation by the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office Traffic Enforcement Unit.
